Concerns about hyperhidrosis mostly has to do with the occurrence of excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis is a condition where the body sweats more then it actually needs to. Also a common hyperhidrosis issue is underarm sweating.

Several different types of hyperhidrosis exist. That’s why no one has a definitive answer as to the exact cause of hyperhidrosis to this day. Excessive sweating does not necessarily take place in one location of the body.

When the body starts to sweat excessively it is known that the sympathetic nervous system runs at an extremely high activity level. There is electrical shock therapy this consists of light electrical stimulation which is typically applied to the hands. The objective is to “stun” the sweat glands, and the treatment can last anywhere from six hours up to once week.

One of the most recent treatments is injecting Botox into the affected area. This can take many injections to notice a difference and its effectiveness lasts for one to six months.
